Privacy Policy
This policy covers templobe.app and the beta reservation list. It describes the website, not a shipped desktop app — the app is not distributed yet. When it ships, its behaviour on your machine will be documented separately and this page will be updated.
What we collect
When you reserve the beta
- Email address — required. It is the only way we can send the build and the setup note.
- What you plan to transcribe — optional, one of six choices such as meetings, interviews or podcasts. It tells us which guides to write first.
- How you found the page — campaign parameters from the link you clicked (for example
utm_source=reddit), the hostname of the site that referred you, and the time you submitted the form. These are stored with your record so we can tell which channels actually work.
When you load a page
Our host, Cloudflare, keeps standard server logs for security and abuse prevention: IP address, browser user agent, and the requested URL. These logs are not joined to your email address and are not used to build a profile of you.
What we never collect
Your name, phone number, postal address, payment details, audio files, and transcripts. There is no payment step in the beta, and no audio upload anywhere in the product.
Why we hold it
- To send one confirmation email, so a typo or someone else's address does not end up on the list.
- To send the beta build and a short setup note when it is ready — one message, not a drip sequence.
- To understand, in aggregate, which channels bring reservations, so effort goes where it works.
- To keep the form from being abused by bots and bulk sign-ups.
If you are in the EU, UK or Switzerland, the legal basis is your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) for the list itself, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure (Article 6(1)(f)) for the server logs. You can withdraw consent at any time — see Your rights.
Who processes it
We keep the list small and use as few services as possible. Two processors handle data on our behalf:
- MailerLite (UAB MailerLite, Lithuania) stores the reservation list and sends the emails. When you click the confirmation link you land on a page hosted by MailerLite, which may set its own cookies.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) serves the website, answers DNS queries and forwards mail sent to our domain.
Both are bound by data processing agreements and may only use the data to provide their service to us. Emails sent through MailerLite can record whether a message was delivered, opened or clicked; we look at delivery and confirmation so we know the list is working, and we do not use that data for advertising.
Where data leaves the EEA or UK, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. We do not transfer your address to any other third party except where the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser's local storage. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel, and no third-party script of any kind. The campaign parameters in a link are read from the URL in memory, sent once with the form, and never written to your device.
Pages hosted by MailerLite — the confirmation page and any email preference centre — are outside this site and may set their own cookies under their policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your reservation until you ask us to delete it, or until 12 months after the beta ends, whichever comes first. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days and remove the record from MailerLite, including the campaign fields attached to it.
Server logs held by Cloudflare are kept for a short period set by our plan and then discarded. They are not part of the reservation list.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your record entirely;
- withdraw your consent, which stops all future email;
- restrict or object to how we use it.
Email templobe001@gmail.com from the address you used, or tell us which address to look up. We answer within 30 days. Every email we send also has a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list without affecting anything else.
If you are in the EU or UK and are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in California, you can ask what we collect, ask us to delete it, and ask us not to sell or share it — we do neither, and we do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. The API key that writes to the mailing list exists only on the server, never in the page. The list is reachable by one person. No system is perfectly secure, but the data at stake here is deliberately narrow: an email address and how you found us.
Children
The site and the beta are aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted an address, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
The effective date at the top of this page changes whenever the policy does. If a change materially affects what we do with your address, we will email the list before it takes effect rather than rely on you re-reading this page.
